I am feeling...
"Back in black, and worse than ever before."
Greetings and salutations.....
Whoa. It has been awfully long since I've last updated. I am a horrible, horrible person.
It's just that nothing of great importance has happened around here. I can't even come up with any good rants. My mind is one big slushy Jello-ish mess right now.
There is so much homework and such that I need to do, but I cannot motivate myself. I miss a lot of work. I miss a lot of class.
I just really, really need to hold myself together through these last few weeks of the semester.
A few papers, a few essays, cleaning up a bit, and taking care of some business around here... that seems to be the order of the week, along with not missing any more work or class.
Sounds like no fun, eh? Well, here's some fun to tide you over until my next entry...

It's Monday, so that means it's time for...
The Patron Saint of the Week!
There are quite a few patron saints of students, but I picked one for this week's installment. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you... [ Saint Ursula ].

I find it quite amusing and fitting that she is also the patron saint of Catholic education, especially of girls. I wonder if Saint Ursula is the patron saint of short plaid skirts and militant nuns as well.
This is exactly why I run this mostly-weekly feature... to irreverently mock the Catholic faith, generally for the hell of it.
But please... don't get me wrong here. I was baptized Catholic, sure, but I am very much non-practicing. On the other hand, I am not ripping anyone down. But seriously... the things they have patron saints for is amazing. It's unreal.
It's not like I am ignorant of the faith either- I've never gone to a public school. I went to an Episcopal preschool, a Catholic kindergarten, a Catholic grade school (grades 1-8), a Catholic high school (9-12), and now I am at a Catholic women's college. I've had more than my share of years of getting religion shoved down my throat. (Hey... Saint Ursula, patron saint of Catholic girls' education... I go to a Catholic women's college... go figure! :-) )

Off I go now... a shower and an extended bout with my homework is in order. Until next time!
