I am feeling...
"What's new in the Bend."
Greetings and salutations.....
I am currently listening to "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here" by Weezer. How appropriate. I also just got done watching "Dead Man Walking". More on that later.

A disturbing phenomenon has just been called to the attention of several Saint Mary's College students...
Dining Hall = Diarrhea Hell
Coincidence? I think not. However, while this is the typical effect on most girls who eat at the Dysentery House, I myself tend to lean more towards the vomiting effect. They took away our french fries, and the food just went downhill from there. I've been here for about four weeks, and I've only been there for five meals. Can you blame me? Not in the least.

I came close to getting arrested on Friday night.
Amber, Amy, Laura, Brian, Scuba Steve, and I went to Notre Dame to party-jump and get wasted, and we had a great time. I tracked down some Absolut Citrus and became close friends with the bottle for a good while.
Big discoveries of the night: Amber can slam down shots like a man, Scuba Steve likes to dance... with himself, Brian likes hot wax on his nipples, Amy equates the smell of tequila with raw meat, I am a screamer, and Laura is not a racist bitch- she has pictures to prove it.
Amy, Brian, and Scuba Steve took off early to go back to SMC, and me, Amber, and Laura jumped in a cab with some random guys to go to a party on Marion Street. Actually... I think Laura knew one or two of them. Anyways, our timing was impeccable. The minute our cab pulled in front of the house, three cop cars pulled up with lights flashing. None of us got out- our sweet cabbie, Rico, said "Oh, hellllll no! We're going back to ND!" and drove us straight back to the Circle. The cops just kind of watched us drive away, it was great. After that, us three girlies headed to Reckers to get Laura a smoothie and then back to SMC. It was quite the evening.

Amy and I ventured over to Blockbuster to pick up a copy of "Dead Man Walking" tonight, and we picked up Amber afterwards to go to Steak and Shake for a very late dinner. It was my first time ever eating at Shit and Wait, and will remain a very memorable event for me for a long time to come.
Within the first five minutes of being there, we watched a crazy old guy with some obvious deep-seated psychological problems get thrown out of the restaurant not once, but twice. First by the manager, second by the cops. It was absolutely hilarious- kind of like dinner theatre.
Anyways, I guess the food was pretty decent- it reminded me of a fast food Ram's Horn, if you will. However, one look at Amber's dinner almost made me toss cookies- taco salad with double beef. ::shudder:: She'll be shitting that one out for the next four weeks. But I guess we're used to this trauma on our digestive systems- it's no better than the SMC dining hall.

Watching "Dead Man Walking" is quite possibly the worst thing I could have done right now. I cried through the last half hour of the film and I don't know why. I highly recommend the film to anyone who hasn't seen it- today was actually my first time of seeing it as well. Sean Penn has always been one of my favorite actors, as is Susan Sarandon. Also, go read "Forgiving the Dead Man Walking" by Debbie Morris- it's a damn good book. I just read it for my Christian Ethics course.

Concert news: I will be seeing U2 at Notre Dame on October 10th- score!!! I cannot wait to see Bono!!! Also, I just got my Family Values Tour tickets in the mail today- Amy, Amber, and I are going to the October 12th show in Rosemont, IL. Plus, I am coming home to see the Dropkick Murphys at Clutch Cargos on October 13th. And if Jane's Addiction doesn't get their ass together and formally announce the October 20th show at the Palace... I will kill someone or something. I *must* see Perry Farrell.

That's about it for now... I'll be updating more regularly when I get around to getting my shit together. Hasta lasagne, don't get any on ya.

P.S. Oh yeah... Josh and I are together now. :)
